Self Worth is about who you are not what you do. The Oxford dictionary defines self-worth as “the sense of one’s own value or worth as a person.” This means you must make yourself a priority, understand that you are important and ensure that your daily routine takes into account time and focus on key components of your health, fitness and self-development.  This focus on yourself must be daily and can be a predetermined amount of time. We all lead busy lives however I can tell you some people look after themselves better than others.  This is just a focus and a mindset attribute and it defines us.  The family, children and your work are not an excuse or reason to neglect or ignore what is important and especially when it comes to your own personal physical and emotional wellbeing.   You are never any good to anyone else if you self abuse yourself or decide to put off your own health, fitness, dreams and ambitions.  Prioritise yourself.  Life is about living to an optimal level and it is never too selfish to ensure you are at your best.  Be your best version. Those around you will appreciate and feed off you being the best version of yourself.

All you have to do is focus on YOU and seek what it will take.

Stop measuring oneself against others. There is only one version of you and you are 100% unique with amazing qualities, skills and attributes.  When you acknowledge what you are good at in life and what you are truly passionate about this will in itself diminish the need to measure yourself against other people. Let people live their own lives and be sure to live your own to the level you truly desire.

All it takes is some self worth, dedication, passion and focus.

Pay attention to your intrinsic value. Our competitive nature and social culture tells us we need to be special and above average to feel good about ourselves and who we are. We can’t all be above average at the same time as that is not how nature works. This means that we need to accept that someone else is always going to be doing things better than we are at some point in time in our lives. We can’t win all the time. We can’t all be superheroes everyday and we can’t win every race.  What we need to focus on is our own self value, our worth, our consistency and be sure to be the best we can based on an underlying respect and understanding for our intrinsic value.

Be yourself and do it well.

Challenge your critical inner voice. We all have bad thoughts at times and a critical inner voice. It tells us we are not worthy, can’t do things, that we are worthless and underserving of happiness. Please remember that little voice in your head telling you to stop, turnaround, quit and that you are not good enough is an illusion.  It is designed to be there to entice an evolutionary change and reaction so you strive for better. It is about energy. Simple as that. It is up to you to make a choice at this point in time and decide what you are going to do next and your reaction to the circumstances is what defines you as a person. Your outcome with be reflective of these decisions.

This voice in your head is shaped to experiences we were exposed to early in life. While these attitudes can be hurtful, over time, they have been ingrained in us.  Don’t be accepting of their destructive point of view.

Its simply not true and does not define your potential.

Be mindful of your inner voice and remember it is simply demanding an appropriate response from you.

This response is in your control.

Remember imperfection is part of the human experience and something we all share.  I am not sure about you but I am definitely not perfect. I do however strive for excellence and this is what allows me to progress with confidence as I know that this is all I can control.  We all have imperfections and we all make mistakes. That is our personal learning curve, our journey and as we grow and progress we take these lessons with us to ensure we are stronger and wiser the next time we encounter a challenge or circumstance.  Focus on your achievements and your ability to reach milestones.

Seek progression rather than perfection.

Learn to FLY – First Love Yourself. This is a combination of all the things about you and ultimately placing ultimate worth and value on yourself. Love yourself for everything you are. Be grateful for your existence and for what life brings us. Your overall contribution to those around you will always make an impact and you can choose what this impact will be.  Love yourself enough to prioritise yourself over the stress, worry and commitment that our indoctrinated society presents.  Don’t work with the system however look to create your own timeline, your own legacy and reality based around your personal values.

We can all do a little better and we are all in this together!
