Being truly happy in my opinion depends on your ability to create a complete version of self. Spirituality is the path that leads you to a sense of wholeness however I think a better word is being content.
Being content with who you are can be done by defining who you actually are. Values, beliefs, behaviours and routines that align with the true you. A trues sense of self.
To become “complete” human beings and to find genuine happiness, we need to develop our human spirits to a higher level.
This is what it means to be spiritual: to be the best we can be; to exercise all the qualities and traits that are unique to ourselves and that give us the identity as human beings. This spirituality is an integral component of being human, and we cannot have true and enduring happiness without an understanding of it
For many of us, the journey toward personal and spiritual fulfilment is fraught with unexplained feelings of emptiness in the struggle to reach what seems an elusive and murky goal.
We lack clarity on what we really want. The goals are explained in general terms and tend to have no boundaries and they are unachievable as the direction is unclear.
Example: I want to be a better person is different to saying I want to react differently to circumstances and this is how I am going to do it. One is defined and one is not.
Example: I want to be wealthy is different to saying I want to have 400,000 dollars in the bank as a minimum. One is defined and one is not.
Example: I want to feel good about myself is different to saying I want to change the shape of my body by adjusting the composition of muscle and fat and I will do it with this understood process. One is defined and one is not.
Example: I want to be my true self is different to saying I will work out my values and start living my life on a daily basis aligned with this new understanding of self. One is defined and one is not.
Wisdom shows you that true happiness is attainable once you stop looking outside yourself for the source, the fix, and realise that it can be found within you. Gratitude, humility, compassion, and generosity with an understood routine that supports your growth will allow you to experience happiness in an invigorating and spiritually refreshing way.
Something I choose to work on everyday with a focus on the simplicity of learning how and I am now helping others do the same.
